Kate Middleton is wiz in kitchen: 'Vanity Fair'
According to a story in the latest issue of Vanity Fair, the Duchess of Cambridge is supposedly a wiz in the kitchen, whipping up roast dinners and preserving her own strawberry jam and plum preserves, which she hands out as a gift to friends for the holidays.
The story, built entirely on second-hand information from "friends and those in their orbit," is part of the publication's cover story which put Middleton at the top of its annual Best Dressed List.
The story also reveals that the couple opted not to hire a professional cook for their homestead on the Welsh island of Anglesey. Instead, they make their own links with a sausage maker, and "potter around making tea and toast," friends say.
Judging by their wedding feast last year, the royal couple also favors simple, natural dishes and cooking that eschews heavy sauces, cream and butter. Canapés for their reception included Scottish smoked salmon rose on beetroot blini, and roulade of goat's cheese with caramelized walnuts.
The full story is in Vanity Fair's September issue.
