Fauchon and Pierre Hermé create Olympic-themed macaron collections
Fauchon, which will be a major presence in London at Club France in Old Billingsgate Market for the French Olympians, has launched a cassis-flavored macaron with a white chocolate, Union Jack cap created by pastry chef Fabien Rouillard.
The limited-edition Fauchon macarons will be available at Paris's flagship boutique on Place de la Madeleine until the end of the Games.
Haute macaron designer Pierre Hermé has likewise released a special Olympic box set of 12 macarons in flavors like salted-butter caramel, milk chocolate and passion fruit, and jasmine flower and jasmine tea.
Earlier this year, luxury tea house and macaron boutique Ladurée also created a commemorative box fashioned after the Union Jack in honor of the Queen's Jubilee.
One Fauchon macaron is €1.70, and the Hermé box set, which is only available for online delivery, retails for €27.
