Outcome of US cooking show gets Googlers talking this week

The TV program puts out a call to amateur and professional cooks alike who compete for the chance at getting their own cooking show. Viewers were able to vote for their favorite contestant and the results will be announced on Sunday, July 22.

As of 9 am, July 18, Food Network Star experienced a growth in online activity of more than 5,000 percent.

Among the show pitches in the final running are "Rebel with a Culinary Cause," "My New England' and  "Martie with the Party."
