
Euro 2012: hotel room rates go sky-high in Poland and Ukraine
In Kiev, the Ukrainian capital, tourists can spend €215, which is 43 percent more than the average rate for the same period last year. In Donetsk, where rates have increased to a slightly lesser extent (34 percent), a one night's stay costs on average €225.
In Poland, prices have increased by 19 percent (to an average of €133). Poznan registered the greatest increase (a hike of 55 percent), with an average rate of €158 per night. But it's in Warsaw that rooms cost the most on average (€181.50, up 52 percent).
The data provided by Hotels.com confirms the findings of indices created by Relaxnews in association with Trivago. According to the latest index, published May 25, a room rate in Kiev, Ukraine for the night of the final match costs on average €524.
