SafariBookings.com is the result of a two-year web search for safari goers from 50 countries who contributed 2,200 user reviews.

The site also features expert advice from guidebook authors who’ve contributed to publications such as Lonely Planet, Rough Guides and Frommer’s.

Reviews cover the eight major safari countries in Africa – Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Zambia – 140 parks, and more than 3,500 photos from wildlife photographers.

By the end of the year, the site says they project to have 60 percent of all major safari operators represented on the site.

Meanwhile, in Travel + Leisure’s 2012 safari rankings, tour operator Micato Safaris was rated the best, followed by African Adventure Company, African Travel, Ker & Downey and andBeyond.

Other comprehensive safari sites include African Travel Gateway, which likewise offers tours spanning the continent, from Botswana to Swaziland, and Safari Guide Africa, member of the South Africa Services Tourism Association.
