Foodies, take note! The Spanish restaurant trend continues to spread with the arrival of Catalunya Hong Kong from Singapore in late March 2013.

The buzz: Rumoured to be the hottest new opening of 2013, Catalunya Hong Kong is backed by 20 culinary experts from Spain's Michelin three-starred restaurants, including El Bulli, El Celler de Can Roca, Mugaritz, Arzak and Restaurante Martin Berasategui.

Their mission? To provide Hong Kong with a modern Spanish culinary experience complete with authentic cuisine, fine Spanish wines, delicious cocktails and trendy design.

Atmosphere: Located in the Morrison Hill area of Wanchai, the 5,000 square-foot restaurant and 2,500 square-foot bar and lounge is designed by award-winning design firm AvroKo of New York in a somewhat theatrical Catalan style.

Food and drink: Signature dishes include the cod esqueixada, roasted meat cannelloni, lobster rice, roasted suckling pig with lemon puree and Spanish bombas.

As for drinks, besides the extensive list of Spanish wines, award-winning mixologist Dario Nocentini will be creating one-of-a-kind cocktails at Catalunya Hong Kong for your drinking pleasure.
