Moscow's Sheremetyevo named Europe's best airport, Seoul Incheon tops in Asia

On March 14, Airports Council International (ACI) announced the results of its annual service quality survey, with the Moscow airport coming tops among European airports and Seoul Incheon taking the Asia-Pacific crown.

ACI ranks airports by area. Cape Town's airport came in first in Africa, followed by Durban and Cairo; Abu Dhabi won the prize in the Middle East, followed by Dubai and Doha; Cancun was the best in Latin America-the Caribbean, followed by Guayaquil and Montego Bay; Indianapolis stood out in North America, with Ottawa and Tampa on its heels. Second and third ranked airports in the Asia-Pacific were Singapore and Beijing, while Malta and Edinburgh, Scotland trailed behind Sheremetyevo in the European airport rankings.

The ACI also rewarded structures according to their annual traveler capacity. When it came to big airports (over 40 million passengers a year), Asian airports were in the lead with Singapore, Beijing and Hong Kong making up the top 3.
